morning walk

the heat has been making me feel a little weak these days, so i decided i would make myself take at least 45 minutes a day to go on a walk or do something active.....this morning on my walk i ran into these two little boys climbing in a tree picking fruit to eat. it was incredibly hot, but worth the sightings in the end.

A double birthday party

We had a double birthday party for Rashed and his sister Pipi. In Bangladesh, its not normal to celebrate birthdays, but they are starting new traditions now. Their family made wonderful food and when it was time for cake it got a little crazy, but it was wonderful night!

International Surfing Day

International Surf Day was June 20th and the surf club here celebrated here and introduced the new jute board made by the Gold of Bengal team. The media came out and interviewed them all and they were able to give surf lessons to some tourists on the beach. It ended up being a great turnout!

a few days in nepal....then back again.

i had a few days in kathmandu, nepal.....due to a quick visa run. i was able to have free housing thanks to a friend having a family member there so that allowed me to get a cheeseburger (which i havent had in months) and a iced coffee every now and then! nepal has real coffee so i filled myself up with all the "somewhat american" food and returned to Bangladesh yesterday morning.

a fish market kind of morning

we have some friends visiting from indonesia, josh and michaela, they have been here for almost two weeks and its been so refreshing having them here and friends to talk to. to send them off well, we are having a fish bbq tonight, so our rainy day started out with this sight at the fish market. you can't tell how smelly it is in the picture:)

baby powder party!

so since it's so hot here, the best way to cool off when your dripping sweat is to use baby powder. all of the babies are covered in due to the rashes they get on their face.....this little favorite of mine just happened to cover himself for no reason, just because it was fun and there was nothing to do.
