tourist day

we went to one of the small island here, and were able to visit a couple of hindu temples and buddhist temples....but the most exciting part of our day was when we found Burmese noodles! we have been seeking them out for months now....and it was worth the wait!

moon boats

bangladesh is known for their beautiful moon boats they craft and a few days ago we went searching with my friend to help him find a boat that he could help repair, and instead we found a place where he could help build a new boat which is his dream. such a cool thing to see these being made with no electric tools, everything by hand!

it's eid, time, this was the meal the whole day. this is a picture of the family dividing the meat out to give away to other families who can't afford to get a cow.

mexican food night!

our friend jordan is here visiting, and after so much talk about not having mexican food in 9 months.....and well no one here ever having tried it, he used what we had and made a pretty good meal: ceviche, carne asada and salsa....incredible night of food and friends!

Durga Puja in Bangladesh

The Hindu festival :Durga Puja was today and the beach was filled today with people celebrating. Bangladesh has the 2nd biggest Hindu population in the world and this is just a glimpse of what Cox's bazar looked like.

just about every day, i come outside and either get a snack or eat my lunch and dinner here. they know i favor limes so they always give me a plate full of them:)

headed back to chokaria for the wedding party, our first time we were there was for the couple's engagement party. it was very traditional and beautiful!

saint martin.....

all the fisherman's kids help with sorting the dried little fish.

saint martin adventure

spent 4 days on saint martin helping the surf club out a little bit. it was my first time out on the island that actually has blue water and not the normal brown water here. most of the time was spent on this fishing boat trying to get shot of them surfing. it was quite the trip and i never want to be in that boat again! it was a good thing i took motion sickness meds.

attended another engagement party for a friend. she was one of the most beautiful brides, she looked as though she stepped out of a bollywood film.

since the boys have been fasting, that means they also gave up surfing for a month. so we tried to go to the beach and didn't forget Boojoe (the dog pictured) who won't let us leave him. the beach was crowded and everytime we pulled out our cameras, we would be surrounded.
